Weekly Review:

This week, domestic sunflower prices remained stable. It is currently the off-season for the industry, and the terminal market is not moving fast. The amount of sunflower oil crushing has decreased, so the demand for sunflower oil is weak, and it is generally a matter of just-in-time replenishment. However, in terms of supply, due to my country's reliance on imports of sunflower oil, the foreign sunflower oil market is constantly turbulent, and prices are rising. In addition, due to the influence of factors such as exchange rates, import prices are high, and the port arrival volume is low, supporting the sunflower oil market.

It is expected that the price of sunflower oil will be stable in the short term. At present, the supply and demand of sunflower oil is relatively balanced, and the international supply of sunflower oil raw materials is tight. Due to the continuous turbulence of international factors, traders dare not stock up more goods. In addition, due to the off-season, the demand for sunflower oil is weak. Therefore, the price of sunflower oil may continue to be stable. In the later period, more attention should be paid to international trade tariff policies and the substitutability of oilseeds.

02 Sunflower oil

Week 15 (April 7-April 11, 2025) The average price of domestic sunflower oil this week is 10,800 yuan/ton, of which the price of first-grade sunflower oil in Jiangsu is 11,000 yuan/ton; the price of first-grade sunflower oil in Xinjiang is 10,250 yuan/ton; the price of first-grade sunflower oil in Tianjin is 11,000 yuan/ton; the price of first-grade sunflower oil in Shanghai is 10,900 yuan/ton. This week, domestic sunflower oil prices fell, mainly because sunflower oil is in the off-season, and sales are slow, which is bearish for the sunflower oil market. On the supply side, due to the small amount of sunflower oil arriving at the port, the supply of sunflower oil continues to be tight, and dealers are reluctant to sell, which supports the price of sunflower oil. On the demand side, due to the high price and low profit margin, most dealers are waiting and watching, there are many inquiries in the market, and demand is weak. The Russian FOB sunflower oil price has risen again, and the ruble is still appreciating, and the import cost has increased, which supports the sunflower oil market. It is expected that the price of sunflower oil may fluctuate steadily in the short term. The supply of sunflower oil at home and abroad is tight, and the import cost is strong, but the weak demand suppresses the price of sunflower oil.
